Circular Economy & Reuse

Supporting a Greener Arizona

AZ StRUT supports Arizona’s commitment to a greener future. By collecting, refurbishing, reusing, and responsibly recycling electronics, we help keep harmful e-waste out of landfills while putting technology into the hands of people who need it most.

Every week, donations like the one pictured here arrive at our Tempe facility. Each device is carefully sorted and directed toward its highest and best use — whether that’s a refurbished laptop going home with a student, or responsibly recycled components keeping toxins out of Arizona soil.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Every device that passes through AZ StRUT is evaluated and directed toward its highest and best use. We follow a strict circular economy model — nothing goes to waste if we can help it. Devices are refurbished for communities, reused or remarketed when possible, and only recycled as a last resort — always according to the national R2 certification standard.

  • Refurbish — devices restored and distributed to schools and nonprofits
  • Reuse — electronics that find another useful life through resale or redistribution
  • Remarket — devices sold to fund our programs and mission
  • Recycle — responsible disposal to R2 certification standards

In 2025, 1,142,591 lbs of electronics were recycled, refurbished, and/or reused — keeping over 570 tons out of Arizona landfills.
