1. Who We Are

AZ StRUT is an Arizona nonprofit that keeps electronics out of landfills and puts refurbished technology into the hands of students, schools, libraries, and community organizations. Our Services help you donate and recycle electronics, find drop-off locations, request refurbished equipment, volunteer, and stay connected with our programs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services, and at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a membership or equipment-request account or enter into agreements on behalf of an organization. By using the Services you represent that you meet these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate and current.

3. Accounts & Sign-In

Some features require an account. You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Membership sign-in

Members can sign in with an email and password, a passkey, or a supported social login. You may only access accounts you are authorized to use.

Social sign-in (Sign in with Apple, Google, and Microsoft)

We offer social sign-in through a third-party integration (Nextend Social Login) that lets you authenticate using your existing Apple, Google, or Microsoft account. When you sign in this way, the provider shares limited profile information (such as your name and email address) with us to create or match your AZ StRUT account. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their services. You can disconnect a social login at any time from your account or the provider’s settings.

Volunteer / time-clock sign-in

Volunteers and staff sign in with an Employee ID and PIN to access their digital badge, hours, and time clock. Keep your PIN confidential; it is your responsibility to protect it.

Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at info@azstrut.org. Deleting your account cancels any associated membership and removes your personal information, subject to records we are required to retain.

4. Our Mobile App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the AZ StRUT mobile apps (iOS and Android) for their intended purposes. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or misuse the apps.

• Push notifications. With your permission, the app may send notifications about Fun Finds videos, news, equipment-request updates, collection events, and time-off decisions. You can turn these off in the app or your device settings.
• Location. With your permission, the app uses your location on your device to show nearby drop-off locations and distances, and—only when you clock in—to geotag your volunteer time-clock punch. You can decline location access and still use the rest of the app.
• Digital ID / Apple Wallet. Volunteers and staff can generate a digital badge and add it to Apple Wallet for check-in at our facility and events.
• App stores. If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you acknowledge these Terms are between you and AZ StRUT—not Apple or Google—and that the app store provider is not responsible for the app or its support.

5. Membership & Equipment Requests

Eligible organizations and individuals may apply for membership and submit requests for refurbished equipment through the Services. Submitting a request does not guarantee fulfillment; all equipment is subject to availability, eligibility review, and our sole discretion. Information you provide in an application or request must be accurate, and you agree that requested equipment will be used consistent with our mission and any stated program requirements.

6. Volunteers & Time Clock

Volunteer and staff features—including the time clock, hours history, and time-off requests—are provided to support AZ StRUT’s operations. Recorded hours and requests are administrative records; approval of time off and the accuracy of recorded hours are subject to review by AZ StRUT management. Misuse of these features may result in loss of access.

No compensation or insurance

Volunteers provide their services voluntarily and without compensation, and AZ StRUT does not provide medical, workers’ compensation, or liability insurance coverage for volunteers.

Assumption of risk & release

Volunteering involves inherent risks, including the risk of physical injury and damage to or loss of property. When you apply to volunteer, you agree to a volunteer release in which you assume these risks and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, waive, release, and hold harmless AZ StRUT and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims for bodily injury (including death), illness (including exposure to communicable diseases such as COVID-19), or property damage, loss, or theft arising out of or related to your volunteer activities and travel to and from volunteer sites. This release, which you review and accept (and sign) during the application process, is incorporated into and forms part of these Terms.

Minors

Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian review, accept, and sign the volunteer application and release on their behalf.

7. Donations & Recycling

When you donate electronics, you represent that you own them or are authorized to donate them, and that you have removed or authorized us to handle any data on them. We provide data wiping and destruction for qualifying devices under our data-security procedures, but you are responsible for backing up and, where possible, removing your own data first. Donations are generally final and are tax-deductible only to the extent permitted by law; AZ StRUT does not provide tax or legal advice. All donated items become the property of AZ StRUT upon receipt, and AZ StRUT reserves the right to use, refurbish, repurpose, sell, recycle, or otherwise handle donated items as the organization sees fit in support of its mission. We may decline any item at our discretion.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the Services or their security; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data; submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; upload malware or harmful code; scrape or harvest data; or use the Services to harass, abuse, or harm others.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as a profile photo, application details, or messages). By submitting content, you grant AZ StRUT a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it as needed to operate and provide the Services. You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to share it and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

10. Intellectual Property

The Services, including our name, logo, text, graphics, and software, are owned by AZ StRUT or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted here, we reserve all rights. You may not use our marks without our prior written permission.

11. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or rely on third-party services and content—such as social-login providers, mapping and location services, embedded videos, analytics, and payment tools. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it. Please review it to understand our practices.

13. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any equipment, information, or content will meet your expectations.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AZ StRUT and its directors, staff, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AZ StRUT from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
